mission mania

so it has been a little nuts in the Lovell family as of late.  we have 5, yes that is not a typo, 5 missionaries that will be going out into the field in the next few months!! my sister Erica has been called to serve in the Rome, Italy mission!  she goes into the MTC on March 28th, and because she already speaks Italian quite a bit she is only going to be in the MTC for 3 weeks instead of 8! I am really excited for her, it is going to be quite an adventure.

Rome, Italy

Next up on the list...my parents have been called to serve as Mission Presidents in Neuquen, Argentina for 3 years. crazy!  They will be entering the MTC on June 23rd and will be in Argentina on July 1st. I am really, really excited for them to have this opportunity, but it will be hard to have them gone that long!  especially since i will have a brand new little guy right before they go.  i'm very grateful for modern technology like skype so we can keep in touch with them while theyre gone.

my youngest sisters Ashley and Brittany just received their mission calls last week.  They are only 20, but because my parents are going to be serving as Mission Presidents they are able to go on missions before age 21.  my sister Ashley has been called to serve in the Concepcion, Chile mission!

Brittany has been called to serve in the Malaga, Spain mission!

They will enter the MTC on August 1, AFTER my parents are in the mission field. :)  I am so excited for all of them, they will do such an incredible job.  I can't wait to share in their missionary experiences and to feel the excitement of sharing the Gospel.  It is going to be a weird feeling having 1/2 of my family gone!  I will be the youngest person in my family living in the US...haha. This is going to be an exciting summer!!!

In other exciting news, Andy's brother Louis is engaged!!  He is getting married to Shanna Smedley on July 13. Shanna is absolutely wonderful, and I am so happy for them both!  Congrats you guys!

day 156

I saw this on my cute friend Gini's blog, and I thought it was a great way to track how I am feeling during my pregnancy.  today is day 156 of my pregnancy and:

  • i'm starting to have more energy again, which is good because work is CRAZY
  • i crave sweet foods...and I eat a lot more of them than I should!
  • our little man is starting to move around more and more,  it is the most amazing feeling!
  • i already feel huge. and i'm only on week 22.  it is just going to get even more fun :)
  • people feel comfortable asking me if i'm pregnant now, which is way better than that awkward "is she just packing on the lbs?" phase that i've been in the past few weeks
  • i can't help myself from stopping to look at baby boy clothes every time i am at the store.  they are so dang cute!!
Some days June 11th seems so far away, but I know it will really go so fast.  What a fun time!

grilled chicken tenderloins

Happy Conference Weekend everyone! I hope you all enjoyed conference as much as I did. It seems like every 6 months when Conference rolls around the talks are just for me and they give me a huge spiritual boost.  It was a great weekend.

Being home all weekend also means lots of delicious food! I tried a new recipe and it turned out REALLY good! You can find the recipe here, I highly recommend it. It is always nice when new recipes work out. I also made homemade jam for the first time this weekend! I used my Mom's fabulous peach/raspberry jam recipe and made like 18 qts. We have enough jam to last us like 10 yrs. :) It sure was fun to make it, I'm so excited to have it on some toast!!

crockpot pineapple teriyaki chicken

It has been so long since I've actually planned a meal (and cooked it!) that I thought it was definitely blog-worthy.  I have decided the crockpot is going to become my new best friend...I just usually don't feel like cooking once I get home from work or from the gym!

This was a really good recipe, but then again I am a huge fan of anything teriyaki so I might be a little biased.  I think I might try adding some green peppers towards the end or something like that to give it a little more crunch.I got the recipe on pinterest (thank you) but it really came from this blog post.  There are some other great crockpot recipes on this website that I will definitely be trying! Do you have any other good websites for crockpot recipes or just quick recipes?

go utes!

Congrats to the Utah Football team for a great win over BYU yesterday!  The volleyball team wasn't as successful.  They lost to Stanford (ranked #2) and Cal (ranked #1), but I was so proud of them for putting up a good fight. They've got a tough conference this year. They may not win the Pac 12 but they will get a ton better.  It will be fun to watch them this year.  It is definitely a good weekend to be a Utah fan!
